Ellipsis is a site-specific installation by Roy Meuwissen created for Access Gallery in Vancouver, utilizing the gallery’s tile floor pattern to produce a hand-woven tapestry and a custom-embroidered magician’s handkerchief. The tapestry and handkerchief resurface in subsequent photographs and a video loop featuring a magician’s trick with a dove. The exhibition is accompanied by a limited-run print multiple featuring the essay “Carpets” from Vilém Flusser’s 1999 book The Shape of Things.
