A video-work, composed of a single-shot, depicting a replica-antique humming top set spinning against a cycloramic backdrop. The top will be refinished and inscribed with the phrase, Die Welt ist alles, was der Fall ist, (“The world is all that is the case”), the first proposition of Wittgenstein’s Tractatus. The camera is placed on a pivot allowing it to slowly tilt from a profile to an overhead shot of the spinning top. When the camera’s position is perpendicular the top’s revolutions will slow down to make the inscription legible.
